NSMBC Ministries
Music Ministry
Music is the universal language & when it's for God it has an even more powerful effect. NSMBC has three main choirs, adult, youth/children's and men's. The youth/children's choirs comprise the Buds of Christ Choir open to children from ages 2-12, & and the Disciples of Christ Youth Choir open to young adults ages 13-19. Each of these choirs meet every Thursday at 5:30 pm. The Voices of Praise Adult Choir & male choirs are open to men & women age 20 and older. The Voices of Praise choir meets every Thursday at 6:00 pm. The male choir meets every Monday at 6:00 pm. The emphasis of these ministries are to assist our church members & the public in worship & praise through singing. The goal for our choir members is to teach them music appreciation & group singing with an emphasis on togetherness, tone & pitch.

Praise Personified Dance Ministry
The Dance Ministry is a way for our members to use their love of dance to promote the message of the gospel. These two ministries for youths and adults are from the heart of God & our member dancers. It is a group dedicated to the expression of dance to God, the church, one another, & the public. It is open to youths & adults of all ages who have dance in their souls. Youth dancers meet every Saturday at 9:00 am & the adult dance group meet every Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

Youth Ministry
This ministry works with youth to encourage & develop their spiritual maturity so they embrace & understand the role of God in their lives. We strive to make this ministry inviting by making our youth feel loved, valued & safe to express their God given talents & skills.

Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry focuses on issues that affect women-therefore discussions vary according to the group. The women in this group are dedicated to one another & their own self-reflection about our individual willingness to learn, listen and act through this groups primary study of women of the Bible.

Men's Ministry
This ministry allows men to fellowship with one another & discuss issues pertinent to many & their families using the Bible as a foundation for their discussions. The men meet the 1st Saturday of every month at 10:00 am.

Nursing Home Ministry
Quite often the elderly are unable to attend church due to health concerns. As caring Christians, this ministry takes church to them. Once a month the Nursing Home ministry conducts services at Crystal Care Center, in order to bring our elderly the word of God & provide them often needed company & conversation. Services at Crystal Care Center are every 2nd Saturday of the month at 1:30 pm.

NSMBC Groups & Boards
Another Opportunity At Life Support Group
Provides a safe & sober spiritual environment for recovering church members & community addicts & alcoholics to maintain their sobriety. This group meets every Friday, at 6:00 pm. To participate or learn more contact Marvin Clark at (612)522-2951. Everyone is welcome!

New Members Classes
Prepares newly saved & new members for a closer walk with God through the study of the Bible. This group meets every Sunday at 9:15 am. It's open to anyone who wants a closer walk with God or a basic refresher of Biblical truths. To learn more contact Nene Hollie at (612)522-2951.

Book Club-For Grown Folks Only (ages 25+)
is a dedicated group of readers who not only gather to discuss their most current literary choice, but also use the group as an avenue to get to know one another, exchange ideas & opinions about topics that are of issue to the group. The NSMBC Book Club meets every 2nd Saturday of the month at 4:00 pm or as determined by the group.

Women Growing in Grace Bible Study
focuses on the study of the women in the Bible to enable the women of the group to apply in their lives what they have learned in order to become the women God has created them to be. This group meets every Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

Social/Kitchen Committee
is a small group of dedicated cooks or wannabe chefs whose mission is to feed the hungry. This group prepares & serves breakfast after Sunday services to the church attendees & prepares dinners for more formal church events. This groups is also responsible for the coordination & distribution of holiday food baskets.

Deacon Board
Assists the senior pastor Reverend Jerry McAfee in visiting & praying for the sick & supporting the women & children of NSMBC. The Board meets every 1st Saturday of the month at 9:00 am for breakfast.
​
Deaconess/Mother's Board
Made up of women that provide assistance to the senior pastor Reverend Jerry McAfee & the deacons in matters concerning the female members of NSMBC. The Board meet at 12 Noon every Saturday immediately prior to the first Sunday of the month.
​
Pastor's Aid Committee
A group that provides additional assistance to the senior pastor in any needs he many have inside & outside the church's walls, & aid him through support of his vision & mission. This committee meets the 1st Sunday of every month at 10:00 am, or as needed. To participate or learn more contact Nene Hollie at (612)522-2951.

Usher Board
The primary responsibility to meet, greet & seat members of the congregation and visitors during services. They also assist anyone who may have a need during the service. The Usher Board is open to both men and women. This group meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:30 am.
​
